Jeff: I waited for you forever, man! I thought you'd left.
Wayne: Just walked the ladies out to a taxi. You have nothing to worry about. But it looks like you'll have a black eye.
Jeff: How humiliating! Let's get out of here!
Wayne: You sure you're done fishing?
Jeff: I am so done, I don't think I'll be coming out for a while!
Wayne: Well, my night was definitely worth it. [looks at Ana's phone number and smiles]

Around A.D. 600, the Mayas were the main aboriginal group in Central America. They established the first cocoa plantations and used the cocoa bean as the main ingredient in a dark, bitter drink that we would call “chocolate.” The Mayas believed that chocolate had mystical properties---but cocoa also had commercial value. In fact, cocoa beans were used as a form of currency that was worth its weight in gold!

You should use the fill-in flash.

对话
Ian: I'm a bit disappointed with some of my vacation snaps.
Bob: They mostly look fine to me.
Ian: But on these where I photographed my friends against the sun, their
faces are quite dark. You can't really see them clearly.
Bob: Ah, in those kind of conditions you should use the fill-in flash setting on your camera.
Ian: What will that do?
Bob: It will make their faces lighter so that you can see them better when the sun's behind them.

用一般闪光灯(flash),可以凭其强光清除阴影,但照片看来会不自然,所以最好用较柔和的补充闪光(fill-in flash): If you don't want your subject(拍摄对象)to squint(瞇着眼睛)in the sun, or to have dark eye sockets(眼窝)and shadows under the nose and lips, you may shoot(拍摄)him against the sun using fill-in flash。

As more light was needed on her face, we sent for a reflector(她脸部要多点光,我们于是叫人拿块反光板来)。 I'm a bit disappointed with some of my vacation snaps。 I snapped at the chance of working with such a brilliant scientist(有机会和这样出色的科学家合作,我当然不会放过)。 I snapped my son while he was happily eating ice cream(我趁儿子快快活活吃冰淇淋的时候,帮他拍了照片)。 I took a snap of the volcanic eruption(我拍了火山爆发的照片)。
